Help Close By is a Birmingham based charity that uses technology to address poverty. We have created an app that connects people in need to charities, such as ourselves ,and our partners so people can find short term support and long term solutions.

While we have referrals into our system that can come from other organisations and social workers, we also reach a huge number of people with the humble leaflet. Using big data we’re able to map down to a household address level to work out the best places to reach and have the most use and impact, and then leaflet these priority areas. We get the majority of our request for help this way, and CSR days have been used by other workplaces with great success.
